I have always been a fan of photography and recently i started to get into mountain trekking, so put those to together and you get panorama photography ). But the problem with panorama photography is that its no fun unless you can share it with friends, and sending large files and scrolling in the preview window is not so fun. Not to talk about finding good stitching software, that is also free is almost impossible.
Well today i found a solution for both problems.
CleVR offers a possible solution with a free, embeddable Flash viewer for panorama photographs. Not only this but it offers the means to stitch photograph together either in the old javascript editor or in the new adobe air application.
Below there is a demonstration, which features my first trekking panorama .
You will have to zoom out a little bit to get a better overall picture.
Today i wanted to start work on a new project, so i open my Zend Studio Editor and add the FTP details for the new project in the File System ( feature that i love in Zend Studio ). But to my surprise something was not completely right.
The FTP seem to be added correctly, upon clicking connect it seem to connect just right, the color would turn to black from the unconnected gray, but the files and folders on the FTP would not show up. I spent one hour trying a bunch of stuff out. I tried reading the FTP Server, closing and reopening Zend Studio, even tried to restart windows as a disparate act. Nothing worked.
I tried googling the problem but no results came about this problem.
After some little thinking i tried adding exception to the windows firewall, with no luck, even disabled it but the same situation. Tried to do the same with the NOD antivirus system. Nothing seem to do the trick.
Before you comment if the FTP details were correct, they are … i tested them in a FTP client and it worked.
Finally just a few minutes ago i found the solution !
The problem was that when i added the FTP Server at Initial Directory: i usualy left the default value of /, and the Editor would usually find the correct value which would be the account username on most cases. But for some reason on this FTP Server it didn’t do that so it tried to access the servers root folder where i didnt have any rights …. so no files to show.
I am glad i manage to fix this, and not use the E-TextEditor ( the FTP Server worked in it ) which although is a pretty nice editor with a lot of cool features, does not rock my boat. I got used to the Zend Studio interface and it would very hard for me to change to something else now.
Hope you find this article useful and find it when you encountered the same problem and maybe save some time.
I don’t know if the title is 100% correct, but the fact remains that Opera has just released its 9.5 final version. I haven’t gotten a chance to test it all out, but i noticed a whole new look to Opera. Better or not we will see.
The competition is a little behind, FireFox had yesterday it’s Download Day in the attempt to set a new Guinness World Record for the most downloaded software in 24 hours with the new Release Candidate. This release according to many has been forced by the issues of the previous release in MacOS. They are preparing to go final with FireFox 3, but they are not there yet.
As for Internet Explorer, it’s preparing for its version 8 Beta 2.
Apple has started seeding developers with an early version of Safari 4 (5526.11.2). The release comes amidst news of Apple’s plans for Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) which will focus on performance and quality.
But to be honest i still have Firefox as my default browser, simply because i got used to it … and i like the useful extensions that have been developed for it, like firebug and Yslow.
Mozilla team has set up a pledge program to remind Firefox users to download the Firefox 3 browser within 24 hours of its release in order to nab a Guinness World Record.
Well, that day has come – Firefox Download Day 2008 is here June 17th. Today the 1,594,867 from around the world that have plaged to download the new and improved Firefox 3 should get their copy. It’s not too late to take the pledge and help Mozilla spread browser goodness throughout the planet.
As far as i read Mozilla Firefox 3 Release Candidate 3 will not bring anything new to Windows and Linux users from the RC2 version. The extra release candidate addresses some lingering issues on the Mac OS X operating system. The changes are internal.
Planning is already in progress for Firefox 3.1, which is codenamed Shiretoko. Although still in the early stages of planning, the schedule indicates that alpha releases could be available as early as July. Prominent user interface features planned for the 3.1 release include tab previews and tag auto-completion. Developers also plan to add several new features to Firefox’s Gecko rendering engine such as the HTML 5 video element and CSS text shadows.
